We place great emphasis on school uniform in order to encourage high standards and to promote a sense of belonging to the school. We ask parents to ensure that their child attends school correctly dressed, with tie worn correctly and a white shirt tucked in at all times.
Please note that:
Hair should be neat and tidy, not dyed or bleached and not extreme (including nothing shorter than a grade two and no extreme contrast between the top and sides).
Make up (including nail varnish) and personal jewellery is not allowed; this includes all facial jewellery, earrings and studs, even if covered
Charity bracelets/wrist bands should not be worn to school
A plain, dark woolly hat, a plain, dark scarf and plain, dark gloves may be worn in winter, but no other hats or caps are allowed
School coats must be appropriate for wearing with school uniform and should not display prominent logos or writing; denim, knitted and leather jackets or coats, gilets and hooded tops are not allowed
Uniform regulations apply on the journeys to and from school and school visits unless specified otherwise
Black socks must be worn (sports socks are only to be worn during PE/Games lessons or sports fixtures)
Students are expected to wear clean, black, formal school shoes (trainers/trainer type shoes are not permitted). Please see guidance notes below on what is and is not acceptable.
During winter students are permitted to wear a black/navy blue v-neck jumper under their blazer
Coloured contact lenses are not permitted
All school clothing, including coats, must be clearly named
