The school aims to support students beyond the classroom. Every student has a form tutor who is the first point of contact for help and advice. Student Development Officers are also available to speak to students. Sometimes, however, personal situations occur which need more specialised support. The school employs two qualified counsellors who can work with students in strictest confidence following the counselling ethical framework.
Whilst always aiming to inform parents of concerns, in a counselling context, the confidentiality of a student may be maintained.
Students will be told how to access this help; parents/carers should contact a member of the Student Development Team or Matron. From time to time we discuss students who are giving cause for concern with outside agencies. This is to gain advice on how best to support our students.
