4.5 Early Finisher Activities 

If you finish your assigned work early, choose one of the below activities to work through. These tasks should only be completed after you have finished your booklet work and added to your quote collection document.

Remember to take your time and complete each task to the best of your ability.

Section 1: Write Mary's next journal entry for Saturday 6th March.

Section 2:  Write a letter to Matron Rose from Mary telling her about life in St Ives.

Section 3:  Take a scene from the book and illustrate it. Write two sentences explaining what is going on.

Section 4:  Imagine Sophie has her own diary. Write an entry describing and explaining her feelings about having Mary as part of her family. 

Section 5: Create a poster about the Day of Mourning.

Your poster should include:

• Ten facts about the Day of Mourning.

• Write in 100 words what you believe the people involved in the Day of Mourning Congress were protesting about.

• Images/illustrations

Front Cover Design:

You have been asked to design a new front cover for the novel, Who Am I?. You may choose to draw your cover, or create it on an app of your choice and stick it into the space in your booklet. 

After you have designed your cover, answer the evaluation questions below in your booklet. 

1. How did you make your cover appealing for the ‘target’ audience?

2. How did your cover reflect what the book is about?

3. How did the image you chose relate to the story?

4. How did you decide on the font you chose for your lettering?

5. How did you decide on the colour you chose for your lettering?
