You will be given a random image of a setting. Using the image, complete the worksheet below by writing a definition of setting and then giving examples under each of the five senses. 

For your image, think about...

• What does it look like? (Sight)

• What does it sound like? (Sound)

• What does it smell like? (Smell)

• What does it taste like? (Taste)

• What can you feel? (Touch)

For example, if you were in a hospital what could you see, hear, smell, taste and touch?

Your teacher will give you a copy of the Roll a Story template. Cut and glue the template to make a die and roll it to get a randomised setting. 

Use this setting to write a short story under timed conditions. Get creative!
