Possible Narrative
Congratulations on designing a modern holder for a medical device.
Your group has created multiple device holders and shared the designs with each other. Having four separate device holders on a surgical tray would be cumbersome, and might introduce contamination risks. You must now work together to integrate the four individual holders into one product using your 3D modeling software. As you proceed, there are several requirements you must take into account:
No tool can come into physical contact with another tool
No biological fluids from one tool can contaminate another tool
The tool must be stable while in the holder
The tool must be in reach of the doctor without the need of another person handling the tool
The combined tool holder must be able to attach to the connector fitting that you modeled earlier.
Your team should create a shared EDPL for this project and complete all the same procedures as you did earlier.
The Device Integration will conclude with student teams presenting their prototype to the class and any invited guests. During the presentation the prototype should show how the device works and the team should provide all the evidence for the design. As evidence, students should reference current solutions and how their team's solution improves the prevention of infection related incidents in a medical facility
