Jan. 27, 2025
This year's book fair is special because Covenant Christian School received a first-time sponsorship from Storyglory Kids. The CCS book fair takes place every December; however, this fair was moved to January because the appointment of Storyglory Kids sponsorship was unavailable in December.
Nevertheless, buying and reading books is a fantastic New Year’s resolution of 2025. Within a week, 180 books were sold per day, adding to a unique total of 911. In fact, for the first 2 days, three different titles in the same series were sold out. This book series is called Who Would Win, winning the spot of the most popular book in this fair.
CCS librarian Ms. Major who worked at the book fair wished to share her insight. Helping students pick out books was her wonderful experience because she liked seeing students’ sparkling eyes, where they knew that they could keep their books if they had their pocket money. This experience never got old to Ms. Major. She also liked that this book fair consisted of books from many different genres and for different ages. When asked about her book recommendation, she suggested the books by Jennifer Nielsen for the older students. Ms. Major said, “Jennifer Nielsen captures historical fiction in a meaningful way.” Besides book recommendations, Miss Major bought over 50 books from this fair and planned to either use them for her teaching or place them in the CCS library for students to borrow.
On a final note, next year, Covenant Christian School will plan to host two book fairs: the week of Grandparents Day and Spring Break (Students can receive new summer books). Thank you, Storyglory Kids sponsorship, Ms. Major and her team made this book fair spectacular.
