FS2 – Episode 17: Using Traditional and Authentic Types of Assessment 

In Episode 17, I learned the value of using both traditional and authentic types of assessment. Traditional assessments, like quizzes and tests, help measure student knowledge in a structured way, while authentic assessments, such as projects and presentations, allow students to demonstrate their learning in real-world contexts. I realized that combining these assessment types can give a more comprehensive view of a student's abilities. Traditional assessments are useful for checking knowledge, while authentic assessments allow students to apply what they've learned in practical situations. This episode taught me that as a future teacher, I should use a mix of assessments to get a well-rounded understanding of my students' learning.
