FS2 – Episode 16: Assessing for, as, and of Learning
In Episode 16, I learned about the different types of assessment: assessing for, as, and of learning. Assessing for learning helps guide teaching by identifying students' progress and areas that need improvement. Assessing as learning involves students reflecting on their own learning, helping them take ownership of their progress. Lastly, assessing of learning evaluates whether students have met the learning objectives. I realized that each type of assessment serves a unique purpose and contributes to the overall development of students. This episode taught me that as a future teacher, I should use a variety of assessment methods to support student growth, provide timely feedback, and help students become more self-aware of their learning.
