In Episode 12, I learned about the importance of formative assessments in the teaching process. I discovered that Assessment FOR Learning helps teachers gather information to guide instruction, while Assessment AS Learning allows students to reflect on their own progress and take responsibility for their learning. These assessments provide ongoing feedback that helps both teachers and students adjust and improve.
This episode taught me that formative assessments are not just about measuring student progress but about using that information to support continuous learning. As a future teacher, I plan to use these types of assessments to create a supportive learning environment where students can actively engage in their own learning and growth.
