In Episode 13, I learned about summative assessments and their role in measuring students' overall learning and performance. Summative assessments, such as tests, quizzes, and final projects, provide a snapshot of what students have learned at the end of a lesson, unit, or course. I observed how these assessments help evaluate whether students have achieved the learning objectives and inform decisions about grading.
This episode taught me that while summative assessments are important for gauging student achievement, they should be aligned with the goals and content taught throughout the course. As a future teacher, I aim to use summative assessments fairly and effectively, ensuring they reflect the progress students have made and offer insights into areas that may need further improvement.
