WATER SUPPLIES AND facilities ALONG the Via Francigena in Tuscany

You can find water supplies, grocer’s shops, inns, cafés, restaurants and hostels in most towns and villages along the Via Francigena. There are a few areas where there are no water supplies or facilities for pilgrims.

1. Leg 22: from Passo della Cisa to Pontremoli: There are no water supplies along the route.

2. Leg 23: from Pontremoli to Aulla: There are no water supplies along the route 3.

3. Leg 24: from Aulla to Sarzana: There are no water supplies along the route.

4. Leg 25: from Sarzana to Massa: There are no water supplies along the route.

5. Leg 26 : from Massa to Camaiore : There are water supplies and restaurants in Montignoso, Strettoia and Pietrasanta.

6. Leg 27 : from Camaiore to Lucca: There are water supplies and restaurants in Camaiore, Monte Magno, Valpromaro and San Marcario in Piano.

7. Leg 28 : from Lucca to Altopascio : There are no water supplies along the route.

8. Leg 29 : from Altopascio to San Miniato: there are a few water supplies and restaurants in Chimenti, Galleno, Ponte a Cappiano and Fucecchio.

9. Leg 30: from San Miniato to Gambassi Terme: There is a water supply in Calenzano and a restaurant, 500 metres far from the famous Pieve di Coiano, in Castelnuovo d'Elsa. There is also a water supply near this church.

10. Leg 31 : from Gambassi Terme to San Gimignano: There is a water supply in Pancole.

11. Leg 32 : from San Gimignano to Monteriggioni: There are water supplies and restaurants only in the villages and towns along this stretch of the Via Francigena.

12. Leg 33 : from Monteriggioni to Siena: There are a few water supplies and restaurants along the route.

13. Leg 34 : from Siena to Ponte d'Arbia: A restaurant can be found by pilgrims near Isola d'Arbia. There is a water supply in Grancia di Cuna.

14. Leg 35: from Ponte d'Arbia to San Quirico d'Orcia: There are no water supplies along the route.

15. Leg 36: from San Quirico d'Orcia to Radicofani: There are water supplies and restaurants in Bagno Vignoni and Gallina. There is a café along the Via Cassia, 500 metre far from the Via Francigena.

16. Leg 37: from Radicofani to Acquapendente: There are restaurants in Ponte a Rigo and Proceno. There is a water supply in Ponte Gregoriano.
