Dear Parents,
Dear Parents,
Happy New Year!! I hope you all had a very blessed, restful holiday, and the students have come back ready to jump right into things!
Now that the New Year has arrived, and we are approaching the mid-mark of our school year, you may notice we will start to “pick up the pace!” This week and next week's handwriting homework will be reviewing letters. We will start the third week of sight words from the 2nd period this week. Please review the previously introduced words, continue to set aside time to listen to their reading every night at home, and encourage them to sound out words when writing. Always remember to encourage them and applaud their efforts!
Remember, anytime reading material, such as, sight word review papers, booklets made in class, or sentence papers using sight words, comes home in the "leave side" of their folders, please take the time to re-read these things with them. This is a great way for them to practice reading for you, and to feel good about what they can do! We will also send home addition Math facts this week to make flash cards to practice adding facts from 0-5 fluently (knowing facts/answers without counting on fingers.) This will not be tested until February, so they have a little time to become familiar with it, and we will be practicing in class too! Thank you so much for all you do to help us and your little ones!!
