We are looking forward to a fun and spooky week! Thank you so much to Brittany Knight, our room mother, and all of her little goblins that helped make our Pumpkin Patch Day such a success, and to those who have been sending items for the Pumpkin Patch day and Halloween Centers! We couldn't have done this without all of you, and are so excited about the centers/party this Friday!
Reading logs will be incorporated into the nightly reading routine this week. We will continue sending books home in the folder and after listening to your child read the book, you will record the title of the book they read on the reading log only one time per week, even though they are hopefully reading it to you more than once during the week. This means at the end of the week, only two titles will be logged. The books will need to be sent back and will be collected from the folders on Friday mornings. Please keep the book stored in their folders so they will not get lost. This will continue to be good practice for reading assessments which will take place next week. Encourage them to tell you about the story and give details after they read it to you. Also, make sure you are reviewing all sight words that we have introduced. Thank you for your help!
Nightly handwriting homework will also continue, but now that we have made it through the alphabet the first time, the assignments will look a little different. Please continue to ensure your child is doing their best, writing neatly, and following the proper formation and line boundaries on these homework sheets. As always, the homework needs to be done in pencil and returned in their folders the following day.
