Dear Parents,
I hope everyone has a very relaxing and joyful Thanksgiving; we all have so much to be thankful for, starting with our precious children and our Grandparents! We have been working hard to prepare things for them and look forward to meeting everyone this Friday! Thank you for helping us out by sending items for our Friendsgiving Feast this week that will take place on Thursday! I am very grateful for all of your generosity!
Observation reports (reports cards) will be sent home on Wednesday. I am so proud of the students; they were very well-behaved while we were completing individual testing, and I was very impressed by what they knew! Remember, this is an observation of what they know. They are definitely not expected to master all the skills at this point. Many things that were tested have not been introduced yet and will be re-tested throughout the year. So, please do not fret if they have not mastered some or all of certain sections. A COPYof the actual observation record is what will be sent home; it will be yours to KEEP for reference!
Remember to have your child try to sound out words over the break, and remind them to point to the words they are reading, commending their efforts as they try! I will send home the new list of sight words this week just in case you would like to get a head start on flash cards next week! Thank you all so much for your un-ending love and encouragement that I know you give your children!

This Friday, November 21st is Grandparents Day! It will be a half day of school and buses will only be running in the morning. Students will be allowed to check out with their grandparents.

Mark your calendars! The Christmas program will be the morning of December 11th at 9:15, and our Advent/Christmas celebration will be right after the program.
