To Teach our students Roman Catholic values in an environment of academic excellence.

All 3 of these class leaders are allowed to bring a show-n-tell each day of this week.
Dear Parents,
This week we are on Week 5 of 8 weeks of our 1st period of sight words. Please continue reviewing these words on flash cards that you can make with index cards. This will be important as we move toward report card testing, which will come in November. After all the sight words have been introduced, we will begin sending home "Easy Reader" books that the students will keep at home for the week and practice reading Monday-Thursday. These books have the sight words in the stories, and will give the students practice recognizing the words in content of reading material. I will be sending more information about the procedures that come along with these books in the next few weeks. You can make reviewing sight words fun; go outside and have them write the words with sidewalk chalk, or draw the words in a pan of pudding or colored sugar, write the words in shaving cream on the bathtub walls! Mastery of letter sounds and letter knowledge is crucial at this point so they will be able to recognize them when sounding out words. Once this is mastered, sight words will be more easily mastered too! This will help them tremendously on their baseline reading assessment that will take place in November.

Please do not share any photos of students from our classroom photo circle or school functions on any social media platforms
unless your child is the only student in the picture.
