To Teach our students Roman Catholic values in an environment of academic excellence.
October 21, 2025
All 3 of these class leaders are allowed to bring a show-n-tell each day of this week.
I would like to thank Mrs. Brittney Knight and all of her helpers for getting our rosary supplies organized and counting all our beads! The children have done such a wonderful job recalling the stories of the Joyful Mysteries and stringing the beads of their rosary! After we have them blessed we will send them home for a short while so you can see them. But, then they will bring them back to school so we can use them as we pray the rosary in class this year! I am so proud of them, and love how much they love to learn about and listen to stories of the Bible.
Thank you also to all of you that helped out in making our Candyland pep rally theme absolutely adorable. The doorway to the building, the spirit sign, and all the accessories were precious! The kids had so much fun and looked so cute. They even did great on their very 1st time doing a class chant together!!
We will send home another reading practice book in the clear pocket of the folder behind the conduct sheet's clear pocket. This will help them on the Reading Assessment which will take place week after next. The book will stay in their folder until Friday, and your child should practice reading it each night when they read their sight words. Please ask them a few questions about the book after listening to them read it. After reading assessments I will be able determine the appropriate level of books to send home for reading practice each week.
Please continue reviewing all 1st period sight words at home as we approach the reading assessment and report card testing in November. Other skills that can be reviewed at home for report card testing are identifying rhyming pairs, letter identification, letter sound identification, numbers 1-20 identification, counting backwards from 10 or 20 if they can already do it from 10, and practicing prayers. These are all things we do in class too, but every bit of practice is helpful for them! Many of these reviews can be done on the weekends in the beautiful weather headed our way. They can count while they swing, use sidewalk chalk to write numbers, letters, and sight words, say sounds of letters for you in the car, count Halloween candy! Have fun and commend them for their progress! Thank you for all your help and un-ending love and support of your kids!
Sincerely,
Mrs. Mahtook
P.S. Our current leaders will continue through Tuesday since their leader week was cut short by Fall break. New leaders will be announced on Wednesday!
