I cannot express how overwhelmed and appreciative I am of all of your generosity! From the amazing door decoration to all the sweet treats and snacks to go along with special Christmas stories; you have gone above and beyond! Thank you SO much, from the bottom of my heart! I am so grateful for all of you!
The students have gotten a great start with the new sight words from the 2nd period of Kindergarten. Anytime reading material, such as, sight word review papers, booklets made in class, or sentence papers using sight words, it will come home in the "leave side" of their folders, please take the time to re-read these things with them. This is a great way for them to practice reading for you, and to feel good about what they can do! Any sight words that have not been mastered from the 1st period list or the last few weeks should be reviewed and practiced over the Christmas break. We will re-test sight words this week so you will know what they should work on. Please keep them reading over the break. Studies show that going two weeks without any reading can cause up to two months of lost prior knowledge!
Our "baby shower" will be next Thursday, December 18th for Mary, Jesus' mother! Each child has the opportunity to send in a small, un-wrapped, new baby item or a gently used one. We will have petit-fours and punch to celebrate the up-coming birth of Mary's son, Jesus, and then donate the items to the Desormeaux Foundation, which helps local expectant mothers in need. I know there are alot of things being asked of you right now, and it is an expensive time of year, but remember, this does not have to be expensive; you can even send gently used baby clothing you already have, or items from the dollar store. We are just trying to instill the values of charity and justice to the less fortunate!
Good deeds will continue to be accepted this week! Remember, these are acts of kindness that are not expected at home, please write what they have done on the angel or gingerbread man, then have them color, cut-out and return them to school. Each good deed that is returned earns a piece of hay for Baby Jesus' manger and will go on our "Helping Hands" Christmas tree. This does not have to be completed every day, but thank you for your encouragement and help! I hope you are enjoying your little unexpected good deeds from your children, and have been having a very holy and peaceful advent.

We will attend Mass in the gym Monday to fulfill our Holy Day of obligation for the Feast of the Immaculate Conception, which is on December 8th every year. You are welcome to join us! Please dress your child in Mass attire.

You are invited to stay for our class celebration, but please plan to park in the private Versailles parking lot across the street from the front of our gym. This is NOT the chiropractor office; please do not park there.
If you plan on staying for the Christmas party after the program you will NOT be allowed to park in the school parking lot. We have to keep spots available for parishoners going to Mass later that morning.

The CCS food drive will continue Monday and Tuesday of this week.
Kindergarten is asked to donate canned tuna or chicken.
A Toys for Tots drive will also be taking place throughout the week.
I know alot is being asked of you right now! Please feel free to pick and choose what you can do. Any or all are appreciated, whether it is the baby shower donations, classroom supplies, canned goods, toys, we definitely do not keep track of what is coming in!! Thank you for giving what you can!
