All 3 of these class leaders are allowed to bring a show-n-tell each day of this week.
I hope everyone has a wonderful Fall break! This will be a short and exciting week as we gear up for the pep rally and football game against Fatima! We will have lots to look forward to when we return from the break, including the pumpkin patch, a visit from the Firefighters and the Safety House, and our Halloween center party!. We will only have two nights of written homework this week since I know it will be such a busy time! You can choose what night you want to complete them and turn them in as long as you send them back by the end of the week. I will send both papers home Monday, but please remember they do not need to be both completed on Monday. I will also send home a reading practice book in the clear pocket behind the conduct sheet's clear pocket. This will be similar to the books we read together in literacy centers, and what they will be reading on the Reading Assessment. They can keep it in their folder until Thursday, and practice reading it each night when they read their sight words.
Please continue reviewing all 1st period sight words at home as we approach report card testing in November. Other skills that can be reviewed at home for report card testing are identifying rhyming pairs, letter identification, letter sound identification, numbers 1-20 identification, counting backwards from 10 or 20 if they can already do it from 10, and practicing prayers. These are all things we do in class too, but every bit of practice is helpful for them! Many of these reviews can be done on the weekends in the beautiful weather headed our way. They can count while they swing, use sidewalk chalk to write numbers, letters, and sight words, say sounds of letters for you in the car, count Halloween candy! Have fun and commend them for their progress! I have already seen so much growth in them since August! I know Kindergarten is a big jump from Pre-K, but they are really handling it like champs!! Thank you for the important part you play in their success!
Sincerely,
Mrs. Mahtook

Our pep rally is this Thursday for the CCS vs. Fatima game. Kindergarten will be in "Candy Land" theme. We would like the girls in our class to wear pink shirts or dresses, socks, and/or bows/ribbons.
The boys will wear orange shirts (Halloween theme is fine if that's the only orange you have) with orange socks if you have them. Please do not feel like you have to go out and buy anything.
*Boys and girls may wear coordinating color bottoms or uniform bottoms on Pep Rally day!
Please have your child practice the Candy Land chant for the pep rally this week!!
