This week we will begin focusing on one capital/lowercase letter per day. The purpose is to review all the sounds of the letters quickly so they can be identified with ease when the kids are reading. The letter homework will begin tonight and they will be working on capital and lowercase of one letter in the same night. Please make sure they are completing it neatly, and continue reminding them to hold their pencil correctly, and make sure their homework is done in pencil! Their handwriting will be completed in their handwriting workbook. Please check the website for the page numbers. Workbooks will come home Monday and will be kept at home until Friday morning. They will need to be returned EVERY Friday so we can check their work.

Our first sight words rapid reading chart will also come home this week! These can stay in the return side of their folder or be returned with their workbooks on Friday mornings.

In honor of Mary's birthday on this Monday, September 8th, light blue bows and/or blue socks
can be worn with uniforms.
I hope your child enjoyed learning about Mary and the stories of her apparitions. Hopefully this will start creating a special love and devotion to her!

We will send home a decade of prayer beads on Monday that the students madein class, please send them back to school at some point this week. We let the students take them home to show you, but we will be using them to pray in class until we make our rosaries! Father David will bless them for us on Monday morning at the Nativity of Mary ceremony!
The Mary prayer card can stay at home!

Please remember, $1.00 needs to be returned with the OOPs card in front of your child's folder if a snack isn't sent to school. OOPs cards are issued when a snack is forgotten. This money will go towards keeping an "emergency" supply on hand.
Please always return the card and the money to cover our costs.
