We had a great 1st week! The kids are doing a great job of learning our Kindergarten routines! We will continue reviewing our rules and routines this week, and are looking forward to a wonderful year. Thank you in advance for all the time, love, and patience I know you will be giving your child this year. Please remember to come to me with any questions or concerns you may have. I look forward to an exciting year of growth and learning.

The students have been given a pencil gripper at school to help them develop the correct way to write with their pencils. We will work on making strokes and begin tracing letters this week. Please remember that they will need your extra guidance to ensure proper grip of their pencil, letter formation, and staying within the top, middle, and bottom lines on their written homework that will begin soon.

If they are not using lowercase letters to write their names after the initial capital letter, please have them practice writing it with lowercase letters this week at home. I will put a copy of their name practice handwriting sheet in their folder if you would like to make copies and have them practice.

Thank you for sending snacks inside the booksacks, and continue to send lunches for them carried in their hand.
This way they will be able to go straight to the designated lunchbox area and set their bag down, and we will be able to quickly report the numbers to the cafeteria.
Lunches should be outside of the book sack!

Kindergarten does not participate in Back to School night. Our orientation took the place of this.

Their small pillows that they use to rest their head on for our short relaxation/rest time will be kept at school unless requested for them to send home. We will send them home at the end of this week for washing.
