Each student in Grades 6-8 will be supplied a locker and combination lock for academic materials. Grade 9-12 students may request a lock at the Secondary School office. Grade 6-10 students are assigned a lock and locker for PE and sports attire. The activities office/PE department will assign these lockers during PE classes.
Students are discouraged from bringing valuable items to school, but if so, are asked to store any valuable items in their locker. The school is not responsible for the loss of unsecured items. At the end of the year, students are expected to clean out and leave their lockers empty. If the lock is not returned there is a replacement charge of ¥1,500. Students should not give their locker combinations to anyone.
Grade 6-9 students will be provided with an agenda/diary to organise their homework and assessment dates. G10-12 students are encouraged to use a digital or paper system that suits them personally.
Textbooks are used only in selected classes and will be issued by classroom teachers. Students should bring them to school as instructed by the teacher, ensure the book is maintained in good condition, and return them once the course is over. Students must pay for textbooks which are not returned or are damaged. Since most of the materials used at CA are purchased overseas, textbooks are difficult to replace.
All students are issued with a student identification (ID) card each year. The ID card contains a picture and an individualized bar code. It can be used to get student rates at theatres and other places in Kobe. If an ID card is lost or damaged, there is a charge to replace it. The ID card also has the student's printer card attached.
An application for train and bus student discount passes (“gaku wari”) should be filled out and submitted to the Principal’s secretary at least two days before needed. The secretary prepares a form for each company which identifies the individual as a CA student; this form is used to purchase a student discount pass at the proper office of the train, bus, or monorail.
Each student should bring a bottle of water, flashlight (with batteries stored separately), non-perishable snack (cereal bar, dried fruit/nuts...) to their advisor by the end of first week of school.
