As shown in the above graphic, the Secondary School formally reports on learning four times a year. At the end of the first quarter, all students (and parents) are given a mid-semester Progress Report. The purpose of this report is to give students and parents a better sense of how the student) is doing so far in the year. Think of it as a “check-in.” None of the marks on this report will appear anywhere else. They do not go on a transcript and they do not get sent to universities. Shortly after these reports are distributed we hold Parent/Student/Teacher Conferences.
At the end of the first semester (in late January), all students receive a mid-year report. At this time all students will see an overall mark for the course so far.
Again, in April we issue a mid-semester report and hold our second round of conferences.
Finally, at the end of the year, students receive their final Report Card. Final marks reflect the students's achievement over the entire year.
