What is an email attachment?
Short for electronic mail, this is a digital message send between two or more people. Each person must have an email address and a password to access and send emails.
When we receive an email we can categorise it in order of priority, this allows us to manage when we need to respond to each email.
An attachment is a file which can be added to an email and sent. We can attach any digital file to an email but the person who receives the email must have the software to open and view the file. The paperclip symbol is commonly used to represent attachments in email software.
Cc stands for carbon copy, this is used to send an email to one person but we can also cc another person in so they are aware the email has been sent. The receiver of the email will now the other person has been cc'd in.
Bcc stands for blind carbon copy, this is used like cc to make another person aware that the email has been sent between you and another person. The main difference is that the person you sent the email to will not know the other person has been bcc'd in..
This is a group of email addresses which have all been added to a list. This saves us time when sending emails to large amounts of users. For example a business could make a distribution list for all it's customers in Omagh, Belfast and Enniskillen. This would allow it to quickly send a message to specific groups of customers.
