4.3 Vocabulary & Drawing Conclusions
steward - a person who looks after and tends to passengers on a ship, aircraft, or train (i.e. brings passengers meals)
hold - a large space in the lower part of a ship or aircraft in which cargo stowed
prickled - a tingling sensation on one's skin or body part, especially as the result of strong emotion
loot - treasured goods, especially private property (such as valuables and money)
suite - a set of rooms (usually connected under one room number) designated for one person's or family's use for a particular purpose
regulations - rules or orders, especially for safety, that must be obeyed by law
exasperated - to be intensely and frustrated
Drawing Conclusions
A conclusion is a decision or opinion that makes sense based on given facts and details in a text. When you combine information you read with information you already know to make decisions about a text, you are drawing conclusions.
