amuse - to cause to laugh or smile
duplicated - to make an exact copy of something
cautious - not taking chances; careful
quiche - a pie-like dish usually a pastry shell filled with eggs, cheese, and other ingredients such as spinach, vegetables, and meatÂ
canapes - a thin piece of bread, toast, or cracker topped with cheese or other savory toppings, usually served at parties
partition - an interior wall or barrier dividing a room, area of building, or enclosure into separate rooms
snitch - someone who tells on someone else; a tattletale
Sequence of Events
Sequence is the order in which things happen in the story - what happens first, next, last. In addition, parts of the story can be referred to as occurring before or after other events. Picturing the story in your mind as you read may help you remember the order of events.
