4.1 Vocabulary & Context Clues
lurched - make an abrupt, unsteady, unconrtolled movement; to stagger
bellowing - to emit a deep, loud roar, typically in pain or anger
fumbling - doing or handling something clumsily
practically - basically, almost, or nearly
den - a small, comfortable room where a person can pursue an activity in private
telegram - a message sent by telegraph then delivered in written or printed form
recreation - an activity done for enjoyment when one is not working
Context Clues
Context Clues are hints that the author gives to help define a difficult or unusual word. The clue may appear within the same sentence as the word to which it refers, or it may follow in a preceding sentence.
