Literary Elements (Character, Setting, Theme)

Characters are the people or animals the story is about.

Setting is when and where a story takes place. A story does not have to include both, however.

Theme is the lesson or central message of the story.

Sentences & Fragments

A sentence tells a complete idea, begins with a capital letter, and ends with a punctuation mark. Every sentence has a subject and a predicate.

A fragment is an incomplete idea. Usually this is only a subject or predicate by itself.
