As part of the masterplan to redevelop and restore the historic Brooklands Racing Circuit, this project created 14,000m² of new office space. The building's location is particularly significant, as it sits immediately next to the original banked circuit, a Scheduled Ancient Monument.
The design of the building is dynamic and evocative, drawing inspiration from the site's rich racing heritage. Its triangular shape fills a plot defined by the historic circuit's boundary and the adjacent Green Belt. A striking curvilinear external staircase echoes the original circuit's layout, while the vibrant colors of the tubular cladding pay tribute to the competitors in the circuit's inaugural race. The project was designed with sustainability in mind, achieving a BREEAM "Very Good" rating.
This project was a undertaken when the practice was called Andrew Lett Architects.
