83-84 Wimpole Street, London W1, is a new office development completed by The Howard de Walden Estate within the Harley Street Conservation Area. The project involved a sensitive redevelopment that retained the historic facades of two adjoining six-story townhouses.
The scheme offers 1,200m² of high-quality office space. To maximize efficiency, a single vertical circulation core was implemented, and ceiling heights were preserved by skillfully compressing the structural and service systems into a narrow floor zone. While the main street facades maintain their historic charm, the rear of the building features modern, full-height glazing, complemented by generous balconies, a green roof, and expansive views across the cityscape.
Completed in 2015, the development is designed with sustainability in mind, incorporating on-site renewable energy sources and earning a BREEAM "Very Good" rating.
