In London W1, 47-53 Queen Anne Street is a 2,600m² new development completed by The Howard de Walden Estate. The project redeveloped the interior of four townhouses, extending from the original facades on Queen Anne Street to the rear mews, where the new apartments are located.
The offices feature simple, efficient layouts with a single circulation core. Lower floors are brightened by small, landscaped courtyards. The rear of the building provides a modern counterpoint to the traditional front facade, subtly referencing the original plot divisions while offering a contemporary design.
Completed in November 2017, the building has a strong focus on sustainability. The offices achieve a BREEAM "Excellent" rating, and the apartments are certified Code for Sustainable Homes Level 4. The property incorporates air source heat pumps, solar cells on the roof slope, and PV cells integrated into the stairwell windows. A large, south-facing roof garden provides ecological benefits, manages rainwater runoff, and helps cool the building.
