- Check in with Michael one last time to make sure everything's good to go
- Request access to Frank Lab Google Drive from the lab manager if you do not have access already
- Make a project folder within the frankLab_Shared/Projects GoogleDrive directory by copying the project folder template
- This folder template includes the following:
- Participant Tracker Template (to record subject numbers, session dates, running notes, etc.)
- Payment Sheet Template (for signing off on compensation)
- Debriefing Statement
- Print out and/or collect your study documents
- Organize your study documents into a physical binder
- [folder one] Completed consent forms
- [folder two] Completed questionnaires and assessments administered during the experimental session
- Test your code on the lab testing computers
- Check especially for discrepancies in how graphical objects are placed on-screen
- Code that looks good on your high-resolution Retina iMac might not look so good on a lower-resolution monitor
- Figure out which individual difference measures you're collecting
- Check our Approved Surveys list. If your desired survey is not on the list, contact the lab manager ASAP so they can request IRB approval
- If under Healthy Adults protocol:
- Make a copy of the lab's Qualtrics demographics survey (ask lab manager for copy/link)
- Save your Qualtrics survey's URL on the bookmarks toolbar of the testing computer you'll be using (and give it a descriptive name!)
- If under Parkinson's protocol:
- Fill your physical study binder with several printed out copies of your demographics surveys and other questionnaires
- Subject recruitment
- Google Calendar
- Keep lines of communication open among other researchers so that people don't "double-book" the testing room
- Mark when you've posted SONA timeslots on the Google Calendar
- Pilot
- Pilot your study on labmates to make sure that your task works, and that subjects understand the task instructions
- After collecting data from two real subjects, STOP data collection and...
- Make sure that all of your data have recorded correctly
- Verify using funnel-style debriefing that subjects truly understand what they're supposed to do in your task
- Analyze your data to make sure that you'll be able to perform all the analyses you want to once you've collected the full sample
