A lot of helpful information was covered during Brown Contract Management's presentation during the All-Staff Meeting. The Business Office wants to highlight a few key areas to keep in mind when you begin any contract negotiations.
Review the business terms of the Contract
The business terms lay out what both sides give/receive from the agreement. This should describe the goods or services your team is purchasing along with the associated cost and payment schedule.
Brown Contract Management will handle the legal terms. This includes proper language and negotiating the risks associated with the contract.
Don't sign anything until you first connect with the Business Office.
Timelines to receive a fully executed contract through BCM are estimates due to contract complexity, vendor response time, and negotiations. A general timeline BCM Timeline is attached and is dependent on the contract type.
