MINUTES OF BPOA DECEMBER 12, 2017 GENERAL MEETING
Board Attendees: Joyce Owens, Doreen Thornton, Bob Hammond, Gail Schmidt, James Taylor
Welcome and Pledge of Allegiance
Introduction of Board Members
Diane Hughes has agreed to be our Beautification Committee Chairman following George Mara’s resignation. Covenants Chairman Frank Carroll has been very ill and is not currently able to perform his duties. George Mara is acting as Covenants Committee Chairman for the time being. Please feel free to express your best wishes to Mr. Carroll as he recovers.
Budget
Treasurer Bob Hammond reported that financially BPOA is in good shape. Since our current expenses are light we are on solid ground. He also reported some computer problems that are currently being addressed.
Thank You
Our thanks to Beautification Committee members for putting up Christmas Decorations and for speedy repair of the fence that was damaged in a car accident.
Welcome Committee
Although Chairwoman Cathy Hirsch was unable to attend the meeting she has expressed the need for volunteers to be block captains to greet new residents.
Water Issue
The water company has completed their recent flushing of the system and claim to have fixed both wells that affect our properties. If you are still having issues with water quality you should contact the company directly and they will send someone to your house. One resident was able to get a rebate. The overall rate increase was approved and has been implemented. The company’s 6 month review will come in February. We will request that a water company representative attend our March 2018 general meeting.
Other
There was a complaint that the lights at Long Leaf and Route 17 are insufficient and have been the cause of several people missing the turn. It was suggested an electrician be hired to inspect wiring and propose fixes.
Close Meeting
The meeting was adjourned and light holiday refreshments were available.
