Shaynia Jean is a senior theatre major at Boston Arts Academy. Being at the school for four she has developed many artistic skills as well as improved in them. Boston Arts Academy has given her so many opportunities which she was selected for or simply had the privilege to participate in. She had classes in voice, film, playwriting, shop, lighting, costume, and movement these classes not only shaped her but bettered her acting and understanding. Being apart of an Arts school and community help strengthen her passion and drive to become an actress. Shaynia had been in a number of films written, and directed by the film majors at Boston Arts, she was also in the movie Black Mass starring Johnny Depp as Whitey Bulger. Throughout that specific experience Shaynia was able to see how movies are truly made what it takes and how long it take by the end of this she was able to call herself a professional actor. Shaynia also took part in the play Inner City blues which captures how people of color are treated along with rape victims and young love. Inner city Blues for Shaynia was a very high moment she truly felt apart of a crew and knew this is what she wanted to do. She also appreciates the behind the scene work from the week which consist of the lighting and building the set it is one of her favorites she has had three years of experience in both and have a love for them as she does with on film acting and stage acting. In her third year she is now a teacher's intern she has help witht the teaching of the freshman and sophomore class’s. Interning is a huge learning block for her not only does she get to teach direct help and critique work of the freshman and sophomore ensemble she learns from them as well.
