Emilia Amador’s writing inspiration often comes from her love of the visual arts. The artists more crucial to her work are Gustav Klimt, Michelangelo, Van Gogh, and Velazquez among many others. Emilia’s goal in writing is to transfer the feeling one may get while looking at some of these amazing paintings into writing. For example, Amador’s recent work from “The Blue Period” section entitled “Blue” was meant to capture her thoughts on poetry though the atmosphere of Picasso’s painting Woman with a Helmet of Hair, which was painted during his blue period. Although Emilia dislikes most of Picasso's work, she is fond of his blue period. Which, is much like her outlook on poetry. She has a certain disdain for most poetry, but their is a special place in her heart for certain genres of poetry.
