As an artist, I see myself as a unique artist because I do many different artwork. Some of my artwork has it’s own differences and some has it’s own similarities, depending on how my mood is. The genre that I like is something that gives a dark feel to it. Some of my work has it’s dark feel to it or my artwork will have something that tells a story behind it. Working at Artist for Humanity was the best opportunity to show my artwork to professionals, friends, and family, by receiving critiques and what they like about your painting. There is people who actually buys the painting as well. I have accomplished on getting honor rolls and honorable mention from school, following all my IEP goals in class, and using my time very wisely on completing my work. I have experienced tough situations, like me trying to pass Humanities 3 paper, it was stressful, but worth it. Trying to at least complete my homework or any work I am missing in class is also tough, especially maintaining my grades. Since I was four years old, I have been drawing all my life, I have never been taught, just naturally came to me, and have been using my art for good use. My father and my mother influenced me to continue on this journey, because they want me to be successful in life and the opportunities that I have.
I have a family who is filled with talent, and I am blessed to have one of those talents. When I was younger, I remember that I decided to do a summer program at this place in southie, just to do artwork. After that experience, I decided to get off the program because I didn’t feel like continuing on. As years gone by, I have realized that where I am working at now, is the same building I did my summer program when I was young. It’s so awesome that I can go back to an opportunity that I have missed out on, all these years. The message that I want to communicate through my art is how I feel in terms of good or bad. I want to show how I really feel and give the audience a message of why I created this art piece, to know that action speaks louder than words. My future goals is to become an architect designer, and an interior designer because you can create so much creativity and imagination into a piece of paper, and then have it come true physically. I hope while I am learning architect in college, I can be able to find a career as an architect and hopefully design my dream house.
