My name is Amanda Pineda. Growing up with bullies and depression was creating my world black and white. I was a child very emotional and sensitive; it was the life that no child will love to have. I never had a childhood; no memory of my past. As for now my memory is slowly fading away. But when I was nine that’s when everything turned around into it’s color. It was when I started to discover what I am capable of doing and it was creating art. Long story short, my life was not an easy path to go through and knowing I’m hispanic with a dream to be successful in life. Ever since I entered to high school, I have grown to be not only independent person but also becoming a better artist.
Now I’m a senior visual artists at Boston Arts Academy. I’m still a quiet person but I have lots to say, but the only way my voice can be heard is through my art. There is always something that gets my attention and that is, art. Art is a form that can be created in many different shapes and size, which is the reasoning why I love to use different media and materials so I can create things that is in me. Art was a form that I discovered that was easy for me to reach out to others so my voice can be heard and accepted. Being different might seem a bad thing, but for me is a good thing; being different is unique and you can be yourself. With no voice but my thoughts in arts and even in writing, such as poetry or essays is where I am able to share my story.
