Christina St. Simon is a vocalist/ writer at the Boston Arts Academy. Christina was born in Port-au-Prince and moved to Boston, MA, around 8 years old. She began to explore this new country and culture that she was brought into, by writing and exploring. Christina is one of those people who will write you a paragraph on self determination, self confidence and pride. Most of her favorite works are from her seminar classes back in High School. She had written Two pieces recently, one was called “Etrange” (Strange) and the other “Haiti La pair D’est Anti” ( Haiti My beloved country). Etrange is more about her coming to america and realizing how many different people had adopted her culture and yet had hidden its beauty. And “Haiti La pair D’est Anti” was about her beautiful country. She also described and caught the beauty of her country while describing how hard it was for her to leave it behind. Christina’s work will make you think twice about someone's culture and even your own. Her work is one of a kind. As Jay would say "It's difficult to appreciate the value of others when your own self assessment is overvalued."
