Appropriation- in art and art history, appropriation refers to the practice of artists using pre-existing objects or images in their art with little transformation of the original.
Readymade- The term was first used by French artist Marcel Duchamp to describe the works of art he made from manufactured objects. It has since often been applied more generally to artworks by other artists made in this way.
Repurpose- taking one thing and reusing it as something else.
Upcycle- taking something and making it better.
Copyright- is a form of protection provided by U.S. law to authors of “original works of authorship,” including “pictorial, graphic, and sculptural works.” ... A work is automatically protected by copyright when it is created, that is, “fixed” in a copy for the first time.
