Students will design and decorate a white Starbucks-style cup using the elements of art to create a visually appealing and marketable product design. This challenge emphasizes creativity, craftsmanship, and an understanding of design principles.

In each space, illustrate each element. Use the presentation on the class website and the definitions to assist you. You may also use the internet to assist you.
Begin Planning
Begin Planning
On your planning form:
Brainstorm themes for your cup (e.g., seasons, nature, abstract patterns, pop culture).
Sketch 2 possible designs, experimenting with layout and color (using colored pencil only for the planning stage, they can use other materials for the actual cup).
Critique and Refine
Before starting, share your sketches in pairs or small groups for feedback.
Based on feedback, refine your design to ensure it is cohesive and visually dynamic.
Begin
Begin lightly sketching your design directly onto the cup with a pencil (if needed).
Begin outlining and coloring/shading the design using drawing pencils, permanent markers, paint pens, and/or colored pencils.
Last, add finer details, textures, or accents to enhance your design.
Ensure all parts of the cup are addressed for a seamless and professional look.
