Week 1 Polished Piece

Surprised By Snow 

“Good morning Dad” I said.Then my dad said “Good morning Esme, go to the bathroom and out your bathing suit on and grab a hair tie.” Then I go to the bathroom and put my bathing suit on and grab a hair tie. Then I said “ I am ready to go.” Next we were about to leave the hotel room but I said “Wait I forgot to get my hair brush. I will go get it.”

         I walk to the bathroom to get my hairbrush and look out the window and saw that it was snowing! Then I said “Dad it is snowing!” Then he said “You can go and grab your deck coat. It can work as a snow jacket.”

       Then I put the deck coat on. Then we went to breakfast. Once we got there I smelled bacon. Then I ordered bacon and eggs. Once the food arrived I took a bite of eggs and said “These eggs are very tasty.” 

Week 1 Golden Lines

Day 1

My evidence is that kids should be able to have choice over what to wear to school.

Day 2

He said go and get your deck coat, it can be a snow jacket.

One day I found a baby dinosaur.

After lunch we would go to Saint Helena with my grandparents.

Week 2 Polished Piece

Super Speed

First my dad drove me to Sebastopol for a swim meet. Then I went to the locker room to change into my bathing suit. Then I went to the pool for warm ups. I dove into the pool so fast I swam over everybody. Then I said to myself I have super speed! Because of my newly discovered super speed I won all of my races.

          After a while I started getting bored of my super speed. I also found it annoying, because I could not control it. On a normal Tuesday morning I got a letter saying, hello Esme we know you want to control your super speed and you will if you open your mouth under water and say reduckdo then instantly go back to the surface. If you do that you will be able to control your super speed. Signed, the spirits. So then I went to the pool and said reduckdo under water. 

           The next day I had track and field and discovered that I was back to normal.

Quick Write My Perfect Day

         First I would wake up 7:00 am. Then I would go down stairs to the smell of pancakes. After breakfast I would go to the pool for two hours. Then I would go to 6flags with my dad. We would do every ride. Next we would go to a water park. We would do all the slides. For lunch my mom and I would go to As-Quoted. After lunch we would go Saint Helena with my Nana and Papa. On the way there we would listen to Taylor Swift. Once we got there I would jump in the pool. Then we would have a cook off.
