Picasso once said "Art washes away from the soul the dust of everyday life". These wise words are true now more than ever. This school year has been unusual, however it has provided the opportunity for us all to learn to adapt to new environments and ways of living, and by consequence, we have all become more resilient and adaptable.
Through a variety of art projects such as: perspective drawings, patterns of shapes using color harmonies, 3D compositions with recycled materials, and hand-made collages, the students had a space where they could express themselves, communicate their thoughts and feelings, and reflect on their learning and their identities.
I am beyond proud of the accomplishments of each and every student and can't wait to see what the future holds.
All my best,
