Although tennis at Badin High School is not the most popular sport, it is one of the most successful and Claire Kuntz is trying to keep it that way and improve with her teammate Lucy Wurzelbacher.
Although Kuntz started playing tennis her freshman year just to get out of gym class, she fell in love with the game. As a junior, Kuntz is trying to keep improving going into this year.
“I never really thought about playing tennis until freshman year, it's just something I do for fun right now,” Kuntz said.
Kuntz has learned a lot from the sport however, she says that her most important life lesson that she has learned is always working hard to reach your goals and having fun while you're doing it.
“I have improved a lot in the off season and I think our team has improved during that time as well,” Kuntz said.
Although Kuntz is a Varsity tennis player, she also loves playing lots of instruments. She plays multiple instruments including guitar, piano, ukulele and is learning to play the drums now.
“I love the guitar, it’s my favorite instrument,” Kuntz said.
Claire Kuntz will definitely continue to be involved in Badin with journalism, musical classes, and tennis and she definitely has an amazing future at Badin High School.
