How COVID-19 has impacted students’ Thanksgiving plans

While COVID-19 precautions are still in effect, we begin to see how it will affect our holidays, the closest being Thanksgiving.
One of the major impacts that COVID-19 is having on Thanksgiving plans is that students are unable to see and congregate with many family members.
“Usually I would go over to my cousins house for dinner but we aren't doing that this year because one of their kids is a sophomore in college and the other one is graduated and living in Columbus and it's more likely with them coming home for exposure to COVID,” freshman Rebecca Moore said.
While many Thanksgiving plans have to change, with proper social distancing, many families can keep their traditions alive.
“Our family is being more careful about washing their hands and touching their face so our family can get together this year,” sophomore Connor Hootman said.
So many families are changing their Thanksgiving plans because they want to keep their relatives safe from the virus.
“My whole family probably won't be able to go to my grandparents' house anymore due to the large gathering of people and keeping in mind my grandparents' health,” junior Katie Hiernaux said.
Overall, while many Thanksgiving traditions are changing, families still hope to have a good holiday.
