Every year, students enjoy a week off of school for their spring break. Usually, many students travel, but with COVID-19, plans might have changed this year.
Many students said that their spring break wasn’t very different, aside from wearing masks and taking extra precautions.
“I went to Tennessee, and I would have to wear masks and stay 6 feet apart from everyone inside as well as outside. However, there were a good amount of people around me who weren't wearing masks,” junior Adrianna Garcia said.
Students who travelled, had different experiences because of COVID-19 testing.
“I went to Punta Cana, and there were a lot less people there and we had to get tested for COVID,” freshman Kaitlyn Retherford said.
For some students nothing really changed for them due to COVID-19.
“My changes were not that difficult, my family and I went to Las Vegas, and went to Utah to go riding in the sand dunes,” sophomore Annabelle Payne said.
Other students stayed home over break, and weren’t much impacted by COVID-19.
“During spring break, On Tuesday I had a track meet at Talawanda and ran the 1600 race. On Wednesday I went to the Zoo with my grandpa, my sister, and my mom and stepdad for my mom's birthday, and on Saturday I had my Ride Orientation Training for my new job at Kings Island,” freshman Dylan Klefeker said.
Overall, even though many students had to change their plans due to COVID-19, many still enjoyed the break.
