Every year at Badin, in February, the girls all get a day to celebrate their friendships and support each other by exchanging Valentines, sharing candy and many more activities.
Many of the girls enjoy this because they feel it is a good way to make all girls feel included and they enjoy celebrating with their friends.
“I think Galentine’s Day is just something that is fun and brings girls away from drama and together instead,” junior Hannah Ballinger said.
Many girls at Badin think it is important to have this event each year because of the support that it brings.
“I think it's important to cheer each other up and make everyone feel connected,” senior Jayla Starks said.
Other students think that Galentine’s Day is more about attention and getting a day for women.
“The day is so that women can fantasize being the center of attention for one day, besides the men always being it,” junior Jillian Palomino said.
Many girls are planning to celebrate in homerooms, or bring food and treats for their friends.
“I plan to make chocolate covered pretzels and even bring in some fun Valentine's with candy,” Starks said.
No matter what activity each girl is planning, it will definitely be a fun day for friends to share.
