Using Google Drawing

Project Objectives

All students to be confident logging onto the Chromebooks with their Google Accounts.
All students to have accessed Google Classroom.
All students to have practiced their typing skills.

Digital Skills Covered

Log in with username & password
Recognise that pressing keys on a keyboard creates letters on a screen
Understand the relative positions of keys on a keyboard
Identify & use the space bar to type a sentence

Teacher Note

This is a 30 minute lesson and should be run at least four times so the students get familiar with practicing to log on to their Chromebooks with their Google Accounts.

Log into the Chromebook

Open the Chromebook and enter your username based on the format below:

Username : <first letter of first name><first four letters of last name>24

Password : (this will be given to you by your teacher)

Once logged on Open Google Chrome

Students will know they are logged on as there will be a icon in the top right corner with the initial.

Open Google Classroom

Click the nine dots - also known as the Rubix Cube
Click the Google Classroom icon
Click the Continue Button
Choose Student

Joining the Google Classroom

You may have to join the classroom. If so they should click the '+' button in the top corner and then add the code given to you by your teacher.

Go to the Classwork Tab
Open the Draw a House assignment
Open the Google Drawing
Using the Drawing tools, draw a house.

Remember

Always use two hands on the trackpad
Don't use spaces in your username or password
Always help someone if they are struggling, but always explain and not do
