Reflection on Learning

The students should work together in groups of three to write a collaborative document on what they have learned during the coding lessons from the previous weeks.

Students should be able to :

Log on to their Google Account
Use Google Classroom
Log onto Seesaw and use Seesaw confidently

Teacher Setup

Collaborative writing reflection.

In Google Drive, create a folder and call it Year 2 Coding Reflections.
In this folder create ten Google Documents and call them Group 1 Reflection - Group 10 Reflection.
Go to Google Classroom and create a new assignment.
Split your students into groups of three.
In the students section of the assignment, start assigning each group document from Step 2 to each of the students in each of the groups.
Click the '+' in the corner and choose Reuse Post
Reuse the assignment that you created in Step 5 and change the students and the assignment document to the next group.

Set Up Video

Video Reflection

In this lesson the students will use the Seesaw app on the iPad or Chromebooks to record a reflection video of their learning. They will record their video using the following script:

My name is ... . I am ... years old. In Year 2 this term we have been learning about coding. I learned so much.

They should continue by answering the following questions (these questions could be adjusted for the level of the student ability):

What was the most fun you had while learning about coding?
What new words did you learn in coding and what do they mean?
What would you like to learn next in coding?
