All students will need to work with their counselor to determine and document their pathway (High School and Beyond Plan) to decide if a waiver of the two-year requirement is appropriate.
Students who will not be attending a 4-year university are not required to take 2 years of a world langauge. They may work with their counselor to deermine an alternate personalized pathway (High School and Beyond Plan). Most four-year universities require two years of a single world language or World Language Competency Testing.
Grades: 9 - 11
If you are registering for a first-year world language course as a freshman or a sophomore, a grade of C or better in your Language Arts or English class is strongly recommended.
Introduce the student to vocabulary and basic grammar
Develop enough skill for limited German conversation
Study various aspects of German culture, traditions, and daily life

Intercurricular Student Organization: Sign Language Club
CTE Equivalency
Introduces students to the language and culture of Deaf people in the United States.
The course will focus on specific language and cultural behaviors, as well as introduce students to the grammar of ASL.
Both expressive and receptive skills of students will be the focus of the course, with a major emphasis placed on receptive skills.
Students will participate extensively in interactive classroom activities using the “Voices Off” Policy to ensure ASL immersion.
