Career / Academic Plan

ACADEMIC/CAREER PLANNING

Arlington High School students are encouraged to select a Career Pathway and develop an appropriate academic plan leading to post high school study. It is the responsibility of the school, home, and community to help students make informed decisions about career opportunities.

Surveys of student interests, aptitudes, and abilities are integrated with a variety of career exploration opportunities in many classes and we encourage students to be as active as possible on Naviance. Career speakers, research projects, job shadowing, and other learning experiences enrich academic content. Combined with effective counseling practice, students make informed decisions and set goals.

The high school Career Center provides direct access to career resources. Arlington School District uses the High School & Beyond program to further expand career-related knowledge and experience through a variety of career exploration lessons in a planned sequence that prepares students for a post-secondary connection in their Personalized Pathway.
